Changing spark plug on 2003 Honda accord v6?

Tools and materials needed:

- New spark plugs (6)

- Spark plug socket wrench

- Extension bar

- Ratchet

- Gapping tool

- New spark plug wire set (optional)

Instructions:

1. Remove the spark plug wires. grasp the boot of each spark plug wire and gently pull it upwards. Be careful not to damage the wires.

2. Clean the spark plug area. Use a brush to remove any dirt or debris form the spark plug holes.

3. Remove the old spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket wrench and extension bar to loosen the old spark plugs and remove them from the engine.

4. Gap the new spark plugs. Use the gapping tool to set the gap between the center electrode and the ground electrode to the specified gap for your engine.

5. Install the new spark plugs. Screw the new spark plugs into the engine by hand until they are finger-tight. Then use the spark plug socket wrench and extension bar to tighten the plugs until they are snug.

6. Reinstall the spark plug wires. Push the boots of the spark plug wires onto the spark plugs until they are snapped into place.

7. Start the engine and test the spark plugs. Make sure that the engine is running smoothly and that there is spark at all six spark plugs.

Note:

Replacing the spark plug wires is not necessary, but it is recommended if the wires are old or damaged. If you are replacing the spark plug wires, be sure to follow the instructions included with the new wires.
