Park your vehicle in a safe location and turn off the engine.
Locate the gear selector light bulb. It is usually located on the bottom of the gear selector assembly, near the front of the vehicle.
Remove the light bulb cover. It can usually be removed by prying it off with a flat-head screwdriver or plastic trim removal tool.
Remove the old light bulb by turning it counterclockwise until it comes loose.
Install the new light bulb by turning it clockwise until it is snug.
Replace the light bulb cover.
Test the light bulb to make sure it is working properly.
