1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow the engine to cool down for a few minutes.
2. Crawl under the vehicle and locate the oil pan. The oil pan is a metal pan located underneath the engine.
3. Look for the oil plug. The oil plug is a bolt with a washer that is located on the bottom of the oil pan. It is usually located near the front or back of the oil pan.
4. Place an oil drain pan under the oil plug. Make sure the pan is large enough to catch all of the oil that will drain out.
5. Use a wrench to loosen the oil plug. Be careful not to drop the bolt into the oil pan.
6. Allow the oil to drain completely into the drain pan. This may take a few minutes.
7. Once the oil has drained, replace the oil plug. Make sure the washer is in place before tightening the plug.
8. Tighten the oil plug until it is snug. Do not overtighten the plug.
9. Lower the vehicle and dispose of the old oil and filter properly.
