- Two screwdrivers, one flathead and one Phillips head
- A pair of needle-nose pliers
- A flashlight
Instructions:
1. Remove the center console. This is the panel that houses the stereo. There are two screws on the bottom of the console, near the shifter. Remove these screws and then gently pry the console up from the bottom. Be careful not to damage the wiring that is connected to the console.
2. Disconnect the stereo wiring. There are two connectors that need to be disconnected. The first is the power connector, which is a large, black connector. The second is the speaker connector, which is a smaller, white connector. Use the needle-nose pliers to squeeze the tabs on the connectors and then pull them apart.
3. Remove the stereo mounting screws. There are four screws that hold the stereo in place. Two screws are located on the top of the stereo, and two are located on the bottom. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws.
4. Pull the stereo out of the dash. Once the screws are removed, you can gently pull the stereo out of the dash. Be careful not to damage the wiring that is connected to the stereo.
5. Install the new stereo. To install the new stereo, simply reverse the steps above. Be sure to connect the wiring harnesses correctly and to tighten the mounting screws securely.
6. Replace the center console. Once the new stereo is installed, you can replace the center console. Be sure to snap the console securely into place.
