* Check the fuses. There are two fuses that control the power windows: one for the driver's side and one for the passenger's side. If either of these fuses is blown, the windows will not work. To check the fuses, open the fuse box located under the dash on the driver's side and look for the fuses labeled "PWR WINDOW L" and "PWR WINDOW R." If either fuse is blown, replace it with a new fuse of the same amperage.
* Check the switches. The window switches are located on the driver's door and the passenger's door. If one of the switches is faulty, the corresponding window will not work. To test the switches, try operating the window from the other door. If the window works from the other door, the switch on the first door is likely faulty and will need to be replaced.
* Check the window regulators. The window regulators are the mechanisms that raise and lower the windows. If one of the regulators is faulty, the corresponding window will not work. To test the regulators, try to move the window up and down by hand. If the window does not move, or if it moves but makes a grinding noise, the regulator is likely faulty and will need to be replaced.
* Check the wiring. The wiring that connects the switches, regulators, and motors can also be damaged, preventing the windows from working. To check the wiring, look for any loose or damaged wires. If you find any damaged wires, repair them by splicing in a new section of wire.
