To replace the fuel filter:
1. Pull the car up onto ramps or use a jack and jack stands. Engage the parking brake.
2. Unscrew the gas cap to relieve pressure in the fuel system.
3. Crawl under the car and find the fuel filter. It will have two fuel lines attached to it, as well as an electrical connector in some cases.
4. Disconnect the fuel lines by releasing the clips or pressing the tabs and removing the hoses.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector if applicable.
6. Use a flare nut wrench to loosen and remove the fuel filter from the fuel line.
7. Apply a light coat of petroleum jelly to the O-rings of the new fuel filter.
8. Tighten the fuel lines securely by hand.
9. Plug in the electrical connector if applicable.
10. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Inspect for leaks.
