1. Open the hood of your car.
2. Locate the engine oil filter cap.
3. The oil filter is typically located near the top of the engine, on the side of the engine block.
4. It is a cylindrical-shaped object with a black cap.
5. To remove the oil filter, use an oil filter wrench to loosen and remove the cap.
6. Be careful not to spill any oil.
7. Once the cap is removed, you can pull the oil filter out of the housing.
8. Discard the old oil filter and replace it with a new one.
9. Hand-tighten the oil filter until it is snug, then use the oil filter wrench to tighten it an additional 1/2 to 3/4 turn.
10. Replace the oil filter cap and close the hood of your car.
