* Spark plug wrench
* 5/8 inch / 16 mm socket
* Ratchet
* Spark plug gap tool
Instructions:
1. Locate the spark plugs. They are located on the top of the engine, just below the valve cover. There are six spark plugs in total, three on each side of the engine.
2. Remove the spark plug wires. Use the spark plug wrench to loosen the nuts on the spark plug wires. Be careful not to drop the nuts into the engine.
3. Remove the spark plugs
- Use a socket wrench to loosen the nut or bolt that holds the spark plug in place.
- Remove the bolt and lift out the spark plug.
4. Inspect the spark plugs. Look for any signs of wear or damage, such as cracks, chips, or erosion. If the spark plugs are damaged, they will need to be replaced.
5. Clean the spark plugs. If the spark plugs are not damaged, they can be cleaned. Use a wire brush to clean the electrodes and remove any carbon deposits.
6. Set the spark plug gap. The spark plug gap is the distance between the center electrode and the ground electrode. The correct spark plug gap is specified in your car's owner's manual. Use a spark plug gap tool to set the gap.
7. Reinstall the spark plugs. Screw the spark plugs back into the cylinder head. Tighten the nuts or bolts until they are snug.
8. Reinstall the spark plug wires. Push the spark plug wires down onto the spark plugs. Make sure that the wires are seated properly.
