1. Park your vehicle on a flat surface, such as a parking lot.
2. Turn off your vehicle.
3. Make sure the transfer case is in the "4H" position.
4. Get out of your vehicle and look for the transfer case selector. It will likely be a lever or a knob located on the driver's side floorboard or center console.
5. If the selector lever is a lever type, pull the lever towards the "2WD" position. If the selector knob is turned type, turn the knob to the "2WD" position.
6. Get into your vehicle and start it up.
7. Shift into gear and drive off.
Warning
-Never switch between 4WD and 2WD while your vehicle is in motion. This could damage the transfer case.
