1. Park your Subaru Legacy Sedan on a flat, stable surface and turn off the engine.
2. Open the trunk of your Subaru Legacy Sedan.
3. Locate the two screws that hold the license plate light assembly in place. The screws are located on the inside of the trunk lid, near the bottom of the license plate light assembly.
4. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to loosen the two screws and remove them from the license plate light assembly.
5. Carefully pry the license plate light assembly away from the trunk lid. Be careful not to damage the paint on the trunk lid.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the license plate light assembly.
7. Remove the old license plate bulb by gently squeezing the sides of the bulb holder and pulling the bulb straight out.
8. Insert the new license plate bulb into the bulb holder. Make sure the bulb is seated securely in the holder.
9. Reconnect the electrical connector to the license plate light assembly.
10. Snap the license plate light assembly back into place.
11. Replace the two screws that hold the license plate light assembly in place.
12. Close the trunk of your Subaru Legacy Sedan.
