2. Locate the cabin air filter housing. It is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, behind the glove box.
3. Remove the cover of the cabin air filter housing. There are two plastic tabs that hold the cover in place. Press down on the tabs and pull the cover off.
4. Remove the old cabin air filter. It is a rectangular piece of paper or foam that is located inside the housing.
5. Insert the new cabin air filter. Make sure that the filter is installed with the arrow pointing towards the front of the car.
6. Replace the cover of the cabin air filter housing.
7. Close the hood of your Maxima.
