1. Turn off the engine and allow the car to cool down.
2. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
3. Remove the plastic cover on top of the dash
4. Locate the blower motor assembly - it is usually located on the passenger side of the car, behind the glove box.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor.
6. Remove the bolts or screws that secure the blower motor assembly.
7. Pull the blower motor assembly out of the car.
Does the Cage Come Out With the Blower Motor?
In most cases, the cage will come out with the blower motor. However, it is important to check the specific design of your car to be sure. If the cage does not come out with the blower motor, you will need to remove it separately.
Removing the Cage
1. Inspect the blower motor cage for damages or debris
2. If necessary, remove the cage from the blower motor. To do this, you may need to use a screwdriver or other tool to pry it off.
3. Clean debris out of the cage
4. Re-attach the cage to the motor.
Reinstalling the Blower Motor
1. Insert the blower motor assembly back into the car.
2. Secure the blower motor assembly with the bolts or screws that you removed earlier.
3. Reconnect the electrical connector to the blower motor.
4. Reinstall the plastic cover on top of the dash.
5. Reconnect the negative terminal to the battery.
