1. Disconnect the battery:
Disconnect the negative terminal of your car's battery to avoid any electrical accidents during the installation.
2. Remove the factory radio:
- Use a flat head screwdriver or a trim removal tool to pry open the trim panel surrounding the factory radio.
- Remove the screws holding the radio in place and carefully pull the radio out from the dash.
- Disconnect the wiring harness and antenna cable from the factory radio.
3. Prepare the wiring:
- Compare the wiring harness of the new CD player with the one from your car. If they don't match, you may need a wiring adapter.
- Connect the appropriate wires according to the wiring diagram provided with your new CD player. Typically, you'll have wires for power, ground, speakers, and illumination.
4. Install the new CD player:
- Slide the new CD player into the dash opening and secure it with the mounting screws.
- Connect the wiring harness and antenna cable to the corresponding ports on the new CD player.
5. Test the CD player:
- Reconnect the battery and turn on the ignition to check if the CD player powers on.
- Insert a CD and test its playback and audio output to ensure it's working correctly.
6. Reinstall the trim panel:
- Place the trim panel back in place and secure it with the screws.
7. Tune the radio stations:
- Turn the CD player on and tune in your favorite radio stations.
