1. Pliers
2. Screwdriver
3. Replacement headlight assembly
Step 1: Disconnect the battery
To avoid any electrical accidents, it is important to disconnect the battery before you start working on the headlight assembly. To do this, open the hood and find the battery. It is usually located in the front of the car, on the driver's side. There will be a negative (black) terminal and a positive (red) terminal. Use the pliers to loosen the negative terminal first, and then the positive terminal.
Step 2: Remove the old headlight assembly
Once the battery is disconnected, you can start removing the old headlight assembly. It is held in place by four screws, two on the top and two on the bottom. Use the screwdriver to remove the screws. Once the screws are removed, you will need to gently pry the headlight assembly out of its housing. Be careful not to break the plastic.
Step 3: Remove the plug
Behind the old headlight assembly, you will see a plug. The plug is what connects the headlight to the electrical system of the car. To remove the plug, press down on the release tab and pull it out.
Step 4: Install the new headlight assembly
Insert the new headlight assembly into the housing and push it until it snaps into place. Make sure that the plug is properly seated in the new headlight assembly. Replace the four screws that hold the headlight assembly in place.
Step 5: Reconnect the battery
Now you can reconnect the battery. First, connect the positive (red) terminal, and then the negative (black) terminal.
Step 6: Test the headlight
Once the battery is reconnected, you can test the headlight to make sure it is working properly. Turn on the headlight switch and check to see if both headlights are working. If they are not, you may need to check the wiring or replace the bulbs.
