1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and allow the engine to cool down.
2. Locate the radiator drain plug. On the 2001 Chevrolet Malibu, the radiator drain plug is located on the passenger side of the radiator, near the bottom.
3. Place a container under the radiator drain plug to catch the coolant.
4. Use a wrench to loosen the radiator drain plug and allow the coolant to drain.
5. Once the coolant has drained, close the radiator drain plug.
6. Refill the radiator with fresh coolant.
7. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to circulate the coolant.
