How do you change the rear or tail lights on a Chrysler crossfire?

To change the tail light on a Chrysler Crossfire, follow these steps:

Tools: Torx keys

Time: 15-20 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

Steps:

1. Remove the luggage compartment floor cover by lifting in the loop to unhook it from the two rubber pins. Pull the cover upwards and set aside.

2. On either side of the trunk area, locate the screws near the top. These screws have Torx heads. Unscrew these Torx screws. There will be one on each side.

3. With the Torx screws removed, there are retaining pins around the outside of the tail lights. There are three on one side and two on the other. Use a flat head screwdriver or similar and pry against these pins to unlatch them and remove the tail light.

4. Remove the 4 Philips screws that hold the back of the tail light in place. The tail light should come free and separate from the car by this point.

5. Unplug the electrical connectors from the back of the tail light unit. Be careful not to damage the connectors.

6. Remove the old bulb by twisting it counterclockwise and install the new bulb by twisting it clockwise until it's snug. There is only a single bulb to replace per side.

7. Reattach the electrical connector to the back of the tail light.

8. Repeat steps 5 through 8 for the other side, if necessary.

9. Test the new tail light to make sure it works.

10. Replace the tail lights in the car and secure them using the Torx screws. Replace the luggage compartment cover as well.
