Insert the mechanical car key into the lock on the driver's side door. (This is different from the electronic key used for modern Mercedes vehicles.)
Ensure that the physical key inserted all the way into the key lock; otherwise, the door won't open.
Once inserted correctly, turn the key counterclockwise to unlock the driver's door.
If you've successfully unlocked the door, you'll hear a slight clicking sound, and the door should open easily after applying gentle pressure.
Please note that the emergency key can only open the driver's side door. If you need to open other doors, you'll need to remove the battery by following these additional steps:
Open the hood of the car.
Locate the battery, which is usually in a covered compartment near the front of the engine bay.
Remove the cover to expose the battery terminals.
Use a wrench or pliers to loosen and remove the negative terminal cable (black wire) from the battery.
Once the negative cable is removed, you should be able to open the other doors manually by pulling the interior door handles.
Reconnect the negative terminal cable once the battery has been replaced, and ensure the terminal is tightened securely.
Remember to replace the battery promptly to avoid leaving your vehicle without power.
