1. Locate the fuel drain plug:
- The fuel drain plug is usually located underneath the vehicle near the rear of the fuel tank.
2. Prepare to collect fuel:
- Place a large container underneath the fuel drain plug to collect the fuel that will drain out.
- The fuel will drain out of the fuel drain plug pretty quickly, so be sure to have a large enough container to collect all of it.
3. Open the fuel drain plug:
- Use a wrench to loosen and remove the fuel drain plug.
- Be careful not to drop the fuel drain plug into the fuel container.
4. Allow the fuel to drain out:
- The fuel will drain out of the fuel tank through the fuel drain plug and into the container you placed underneath.
5. Close the fuel drain plug:
- Once all of the fuel has drained out, replace and tighten the fuel drain plug.
- Make sure that the fuel drain plug is tight to prevent any fuel leaks.
Note:
>If you are unable to locate the fuel drain plug or if you are uncomfortable draining the fuel tank yourself, you can have a qualified mechanic do it for you.
