How do you get the battery out of a 1997 Lumina?

2. Locate the battery in the driver's side front corner of the engine compartment.

3. The battery is held in place by a hold-down clamp. Use a wrench to loosen the bolt that secures the clamp, and then remove the clamp.

4. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery. Use a wrench to loosen the bolt that secures the cable to the battery, and then pull the cable off of the terminal.

5. Repeat step 4 to disconnect the positive terminal.

6. Lift the battery out of the engine compartment.
