Ensure the parking brake is set.
2. Locate the fuel filter.
On most Chevrolet K1500s, the fuel filter is located under the vehicle, near the fuel tank. It is a cylindrical-shaped object with two fuel lines connected to it.
3. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel filter.
Use a wrench to loosen the fuel line nuts connecting the lines to the fuel filter. Be careful not to spill any fuel.
4. Remove the fuel filter.
Once the fuel lines are disconnected, use a wrench to loosen the fuel filter mounting bolts and remove the filter
5. Install the new fuel filter.
Screw the new fuel filter onto the mounting posts and tighten the mounting bolts
6. Reconnect the fuel lines.
Reattach the fuel lines to the fuel filter and tighten the fuel line nuts
7. Start the engine and check for leaks.
Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks around the fuel filter. If you see any leaks, tighten the fuel line nuts
