What advice does the author of how to jump-start a car battery give for connecting jumper cables battery?

1. Attach the red (positive) jumper cable to the positive terminal on the dead battery. Make sure the connection is tight.

3. Attach the other end of the red (positive) jumper cable to the positive terminal on the working battery. Again, make sure the connection is tight.

4. Take the black (negative) jumper cable and attach it to the negative terminal on the working battery. Then attach the other end of the black (negative) jumper cable to an unpainted metal surface on the frame of the car with the dead battery (not near the battery itself).
