1. Open the hood.
2. Locate the battery. It is usually located in the engine bay, towards the front of the car.
3. Disconnect the negative terminal. Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the negative terminal cable to the battery. Be careful not to touch the positive terminal with the wrench.
4. Disconnect the positive terminal. Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the positive terminal cable to the battery.
5. Remove the hold-down clamp. Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the hold-down clamp in place.
6. Lift the battery out of the engine bay. Be careful not to drop the battery.
7. Dispose of the old battery properly. Take it to a recycling center or auto parts store.
