Instructions
1. Open the hood of your car and locate the alternator. It is on the passenger-side of the engine near the top.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. This is important to prevent any electrical shocks.
3. Remove the serpentine belt. To do this, use a 13mm socket to loosen the tensioner pulley bolt and then remove the belt from the pulleys.
4. Remove the alternator bracket. Use a 10mm socket to remove the two nuts on the top of the bracket. Then, use a 15mm socket to remove the nut on the bottom. Use a 1/4-inch drive 10mm socket to remove the 10mm bolts on the alternator.
5. Once you remove the bracket, you can remove the alternator. To do this, simply pull it straight up and out of the engine bay. Be careful not to drop it.
6. Reverse the steps to install the new alternator.
7. Reconnect the battery cable.
8. Start your car and make sure that the alternator is working properly. Check for any leaks.
