- 10mm socket wrench
- Flathead screwdriver
Once you have these tools, follow these steps:
1. Open the hood of your Malibu.
2. Locate the battery, which is in the engine compartment on the passenger side of the vehicle.
3. Use the 10mm socket wrench to loosen the negative battery terminal (marked with a "-" sign).
4. Once the negative terminal is loose, use the flathead screwdriver to pry it off of the battery post.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the positive battery terminal (marked with a "+" sign).
6. Once both terminals are disconnected, the battery is free to be removed. Simply lift it out of the engine compartment.
When reinstalling the battery, be sure to connect the positive terminal first, followed by the negative terminal.
Note: Always wear eye protection when working on your vehicle's battery.
