1. Open the front driver's side door or slide open the front passenger's side door on full-size vans.
2. Remove the interior side step by prying upward until the clips or bolts are completely separated and the step comes off.
Locate the battery within the battery box directly beneath the area near the bottom of the interior step near the rear. Note any battery vent and hose configurations when removing and cleaning for reinstalling.
