1. Make sure the engine is warm and running.
2. Park the car on level ground and apply the parking brake.
3. Open the hood and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located near the back of the engine, on the driver's side.
4. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a rag.
5. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission fluid reservoir and push it all the way in.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level.
7. The fluid level should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
8. If the fluid level is low, add more transmission fluid until it reaches the "Full" mark.
9. Reinsert the dipstick and close the hood.
