How do you replace the battery that is located in back seat of a 1998 Buick Rivera?

WARNING! Disconnect the negative battery cable before removing the old battery. Failure to follow these instructions could result in personal injury or damage to the battery or vehicle.

Tools Needed

- 5/16 nut driver

-10 mm socket and rachet

1. Open the trunk of the vehicle.

2. Remove the two 10mm bolts, then remove the back seat cushion from the passenger side.

3. Slide away the carpet.

4. Unscrew the two 10 mm nuts on the bracket.

5. Remove the bracket.

6. Remove the old battery.

7. Place the new battery in the same position as the old one, making sure that the positive and negative terminals are in the correct places.

8. Replace the bracket and nuts.

9. Replace the carpet.

10. Replace the back seat cushion and bolts.

11. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery.
