Step 1: Prepare the vehicle.
Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location, apply the parking brake and turn the ignition to the "Off" position.
Locate the fuel pump access cover, which is typically located inside the vehicle, behind the rear seat.
Step 2: Remove the access cover.
Using the appropriate tool (usually a screwdriver or socket), remove the screws holding the access cover and lift it off.
Step 3: Disconnect the electrical connections.
Disconnect both electrical connectors from the fuel pump. Make note of how the connectors are oriented so you can reconnect them correctly later.
Step 4: Disconnect the fuel lines.
Using a wrench, loosen the fuel line clamps and disconnect the fuel lines. Be sure to have a rag or pan ready to catch any spilled fuel.
Step 5: Remove the fuel pump retaining ring.
Use the appropriate tool (usually a screwdriver or pry bar) to remove the fuel pump retaining ring.
Step 6: Remove the fuel pump.
Carefully lift the fuel pump out of the tank, taking care not to spill any fuel.
Step 7: Install the new fuel pump.
Ensure the new fuel pump has the same size and shape as the old one.
Step 8: Insert the fuel pump into the tank and secure it with the retaining ring.
Connect the fuel lines and electrical connectors, ensuring the connections are secure and aligned correctly.
Step 9: Replace the access cover.
Step 10: Start the engine.
Once you're sure all connections are secure, start the engine and check for leaks.
