Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down. Engage the parking brake.
2) Locate the serpentine belt.
The serpentine belt is a long, black belt that runs around the front of the engine. It is usually located near the top of the engine.
3) Loosen the tensioner pulley.
The tensioner pulley is a small pulley that helps keep the serpentine belt tight. To loosen the tensioner pulley, you will need to use a wrench or socket to turn the adjusting bolt counterclockwise.
4) Remove the serpentine belt.
Once the tensioner pulley is loose, you can remove the serpentine belt by slipping it off the pulleys. Start at one end of the belt and work your way around until the entire belt is removed.
5) Install the new serpentine belt.
Start by routing the new belt around the pulleys in the same way that the old belt was installed. Then, tighten the tensioner pulley by turning the adjusting bolt clockwise until the belt is snug.
6) Start the engine and check the belt tension.
Once the new serpentine belt is installed, start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes. Check the belt tension to make sure that it is correct. The belt should be tight but not too tight. If the belt is too tight, it will put unnecessary stress on the engine and could cause damage. If the belt is too loose, it will not be able to properly drive the accessories and could slip off the pulleys.
