1. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located on the driver's side of the engine compartment near the back of the engine. It will have a yellow or orange handle.
2. Pull the dipstick out of the transmission, wipe it clean with a rag, and place it back into the transmission.
3. Pull the dipstick out again and read the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
4. If the fluid level is low, add the recommended type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube.
5. Check the transmission fluid level again to make sure it is at the proper level.
