1. Park the truck on a level surface and set the parking brake.
2. Remove the lug nuts and wheels from the rear axle.
3. Remove the brake drums.
4. Remove the brake shoes from the backing plate.
5. Inspect the brake shoes for wear and tear. If the brake shoes are worn down to less than 1/8 inch, they must be replaced.
6. Inspect the wheel cylinders for leaks. If the wheel cylinders are leaking, they must be replaced.
7. Install the new brake shoes on the backing plate.
8. Install the new brake drums.
9. Reinstall the lug nuts and wheels.
10. Test the brakes.
