1. Using the key
1. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position.
2. Press the small button located on the side of the ignition cylinder and hold it down.
3. While holding down the button, turn the key clockwise until it stops.
4. The gas cap should now be unlocked.
2. Using the emergency release
1. Locate the emergency release lever on the underside of the seat.
2. Pull the lever up and hold it in the upright position.
3. Lift the seat up and off the scooter.
4. The gas cap should now be visible and you can unscrew it by turning it counterclockwise.
Note: On some models of the Honda Metropolitan, the gas cap may be located on the left or right side of the scooter.
