Why does AC leak water on the inside of car?

Clogged drain tube: The most common cause of water leaking from the air conditioner inside a car is a clogged condensate drain tube. This tube carries water that forms on the evaporator coil during the cooling process. If it is blocked, water can back up and overflow into the interior of the car, typically near the passenger foot well.

Damaged drain tube: Another possibility is that the drain tube itself is damaged or has become disconnected, allowing water to leak out.

Leaking evaporator coil: A less likely cause is a leak in the evaporator coil. The evaporator coil is located inside the car's dash, and it is responsible for cooling the air that circulates through the air conditioning system. If the evaporator coil is leaking, it can drip water onto the floor of the car.

Other possible causes: In rare cases, water leaking from the air conditioner can be caused by other issues, such as a faulty expansion valve, a blocked blower motor, or a problem with the air conditioning compressor.

If you notice water leaking from the air conditioner inside your car, it's important to have the problem diagnosed and fixed as soon as possible to prevent further damage to your vehicle's interior.
