Tools and materials needed:
- Replacement Speakers
- Wire
- Crimp connectors
- Wire Cutters
- Stripper
- Solder and Soldering Iron (Optional)
- Heat shrink (optional)
Procedure:
1. Remove The Door Panels:
- Pry off the plastic cover near the door handle using a trim tool or flat-head screwdriver.
- Remove the two Phillips-head screws behind the plastic cover.
- Pull firmly to disengage plastic fasteners around the panel and remove it.
2. Locate the Factory Speaker:
- The factory speaker is held in place by three screws.
3. Disconnect the Power:
- Disconnect the speaker wires from the factory speaker.
4. Install New Speakers:
- Connect the new speaker wires to the appropriate speaker terminals (+ to + and - to -).
- Twist the ends of the wires together to create a secure connection.
- Secure the new speakers in place using the factory screws.
5. Test The Speakers:
- Test the speakers by connecting them to your car's audio system and play some music.
6. Replace the Door Panels:
- Reattach the door panel by aligning it with the door frame and re-engage the plastic fasteners.
- Replace the two screws behind the plastic cover.
- Push the plastic cover back into place.
7. Final Checks:
- Listen for any buzzing or distortion, which may indicate a loose connection.
- If you want a more secure connection, you can solder the wires and apply heat shrink.
