1. Verify the refrigerant level. Use a refrigerant manifold gauge set to measure the pressure in the system. If the pressure is below the recommended level, the system is low on refrigerant.
2. Check for leaks. Use a leak detector to inspect the system for leaks. If a leak is found, it should be repaired before the system can be recharged.
3. Recover the remaining refrigerant. Use a refrigerant recovery machine to recover the remaining refrigerant from the system. This will prevent the refrigerant from being released into the atmosphere.
4. Evacuate the system. Use a vacuum pump to evacuate the system. This will remove any air and moisture from the system.
5. Recharge the system. Use a refrigerant charging station to recharge the system with the correct amount of refrigerant.
6. Test the system. Run the AC system to make sure it is working properly. Check the temperature of the air coming out of the vents to make sure it is cool enough.
7. Monitor the system. Monitor the refrigerant pressure and temperature over time to make sure the system is operating properly.
