Where is the transmisssion fluid dipstick located on BMW 323 1999 AUTO?

The 1999 BMW 323 does not have a transmission fluid dipstick. Instead, the transmission fluid level is checked through a fill plug on the side of the transmission. The fill plug is located approximately halfway up the transmission case, on the driver's side of the vehicle. To check the transmission fluid level, remove the fill plug and insert a thin dipstick into the hole. The fluid level should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the dipstick. If the fluid level is low, add fluid through the fill plug until it reaches the correct level.
