- Identify the negative (-) terminal on the battery. It is typically marked with a minus sign (-) and is usually black in color.
- Using the wrench, loosen and remove the nut or bolt that connects the negative battery cable to the terminal.
- Be careful not to touch any metal parts of the car with the negative cable or tool, as this can create a short circuit.

- Carefully lift the old battery straight out of the battery compartment.
- Ensure there is no residual battery acid or corrosion in the compartment.
5. Install the New Battery:
- Position the new battery in the battery compartment, ensuring it is placed correctly with the terminals facing in the right direction.
- Connect the positive terminal first by placing the red positive battery cable on the positive terminal and securing it with the bolt or nut.
- Then, connect the negative terminal by placing the black negative battery cable on the negative terminal and securing it with the bolt or nut.
- Tighten both terminals until they are secure.
6. Reconnect Electronics (Optional):
- If you disconnected any electronic accessories or sound systems, reconnect them now.
7. Close the Hood:
- Once everything is reconnected, close the hood of the car and make sure it is securely latched.
8. Start the Car:
- Insert the key into the ignition and start the car.
- Check the dashboard indicators to ensure that there are no warning lights or error messages related to the battery.
