1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the fuel pump access cover located on the bottom of the car, just ahead of the rear wheels.
3. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump.
4. Remove the four nuts that hold the fuel pump in place.
5. Lift the fuel pump out of the car.
When reinstalling the fuel pump, make sure to use a new gasket between the pump and the body and the fuel gauge sending unit and the tank.
Here are some additional tips for removing the fuel pump from a 1980 Porsche 911SC:
* Be careful not to spill any fuel when disconnecting the fuel lines.
* If the fuel pump is stuck, you may need to use a pry bar to pry it loose.
* Be sure to replace the fuel filter when you reinstall the fuel pump.
