1. Gather your materials.
- New oil filter (check your owner's manual for the correct size)
- New oil (check your owner's manual for the correct type and amount)
- Oil drain pan
- Funnel
- Wrench
- Rags
- Safety glasses
2. Prepare your motorcycle.
- Park your motorcycle on a level surface.
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
- Place the oil drain pan under the motorcycle's oil drain plug.
- Remove the oil drain plug using the wrench.
- Allow the old oil to drain completely.
3. Replace the oil filter.
- Remove the oil filter cover.
- Remove the old oil filter.
- Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
- Install the new oil filter and tighten it snugly.
4. Add new oil.
- Place the funnel in the motorcycle's oil fill hole.
- Pour in the new oil.
- Check the oil level using the dipstick. The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks.
- Replace the oil fill cap.
5. Start the engine.
- Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes.
- Check for any leaks.
- If there are no leaks, turn off the engine.
- Check the oil level again and add more oil if necessary.
