Procedure
1. To remove the spark plug from a 1985 Honda Goldwing GL1200L, you must first remove the ignition covers.
* There is a set of ignition coils beneath the covers on each cylinder head.
* Locate the ignition coils and covers (there should be two of each).
* Use the bolts that hold the ignition coils in place to loosen the covers and remove them completely by unplugging the connector from the bottom.
2. Unscrew the spark plugs.
* You can do this by using a spark plug wrench to turn the spark plugs counterclockwise until they are completely removed.
Tips:
* Be sure to use a spark plug wrench that is the correct size for the spark plugs in your motorcycle.
* Be careful not to drop the spark plugs when removing them.
* If you are having difficulty removing the spark plugs, you may need to use a little penetrating oil to loosen them up.
* Be sure to gap the spark plugs correctly before reinstalling them.
