1. Ensure the bike is in neutral.
2. Turn the fuel valve to "ON."
3. Pull the choke lever fully out (if using the choke in warm weather, pull it out halfway instead. If it seems flooded and has a hard time turning over try starting with the choke off fully or with it slightly engaged).
4. Stand to the left side of the ATV.
5. Place your right foot firmly on the kickstart lever, near the top corner.
6. Bring your left knee up to the left handlebar.
7. Press down hard and quickly on the kickstart lever, using the power of your right leg and hip to do so.
8. Repeat steps 5 to 7 until the engine starts.
Here are some additional tips for kick starting a Honda Fourtrax 300 1988 with no battery:
Make sure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped.
Use fresh gasoline.
If the engine is cold, use the choke as instructed
Make sure the air filter is clean.
If the engine struggles to start, clean the carburetor.
Make sure there is oil in the bottom end, there’s no dipstick or access panel you have to lay it flat on the left-hand side
