1. Position a shallow oil drain pan under the motorcycle oil drain plug, which is located on the bottom of the engine’s oil pan.
2. On the Evo (1999 and earlier) Sportster, the drain plug is located on the left side of the oil tank, near the bottom.
3. Use the appropriate size wrench to loosen and remove the oil drain plug.
4. Allow the oil to drain completely from the oil pan.
5. Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
