Changing the Oil
1. Warm up the engine to operating temperature.
2. Drain the oil by removing the oil drain plug located at the bottom of the engine. Be sure to catch the oil in a suitable container.
3. Replace the oil drain plug and tighten securely.
4. Remove the oil filter.
5. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket surface of the new oil filter.
6. Screw on the new oil filter by hand until it is snug. Do not overtighten.
7. Refill the engine with the recommended amount of new oil.
8. Check the oil level with the dipstick and add more oil if necessary.
9. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
10. Check for leaks and verify that the oil level is correct.
