Preparation:
- Gather your materials:
a. New oil filter (check your owner's manual for the correct size)
b. New oil (refer to the recommended oil type and amount in the manual)
c. Oil drain pan
d. Funnel
e. Wrench
f. Rags
g. Gloves
Step 1: Warm up the engine:
- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to warm it up.
- This helps the oil to flow more easily and drain better.
Step 2: Locate the oil drain plug:
- Underneath the Mule 3010, locate the oil drain plug.
- It is typically positioned near the bottom of the engine.
Step 3: Place the oil drain pan:
- Position the oil drain pan beneath the drain plug to catch the old oil.
- Make sure the pan has enough capacity to hold the old oil.
Step 4: Remove the oil drain plug:
- Use the wrench to loosen and remove the oil drain plug.
- Allow all the old oil to drain into the pan.
- Let it drain completely before moving on.
Step 5: Change the oil filter (optional):

- Use the wrench to loosen and remove the old oil filter.
- Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter and screw it in place.

Step 7: Add new oil:
- Use the funnel to add new oil to the engine.
- Slowly pour the recommended amount of new oil into the oil filler hole.
- Check the oil level on the dipstick to ensure it's between the "full" and "add" marks.
Step 8: Check for leaks:
- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
- Look under the vehicle for any leaks from the oil drain plug or oil filter.
Step 9: Dispose of the old oil:
- Properly dispose of the old oil and filter in accordance with local regulations.
Step 10: Update your records:
- Make a note of the date and mileage when you changed the oil in your Kawasaki Mule 3010.
