Does the width of a car include mirrors?

The width of a car, as defined by most automobile manufacturers and government regulations, does not include the mirrors. The width of a car is typically measured at its widest point, excluding the mirrors. This is because the mirrors can be folded in or adjusted, and therefore do not contribute to the overall width of the car when it is parked or in tight spaces.

However, some jurisdictions may have specific regulations that include the mirrors in the overall width of a car. For example, in some countries, the width of a car, including mirrors, must not exceed a certain limit in order to be classified as a compact car or to be eligible for certain tax benefits.

In general, though, the width of a car is measured without the mirrors.
