- Feeler gauge

- 12mm wrench
- T30 Torx screwdriver
1. Park your motorcycle on a level surface and engage the front brake.
2. Shut off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.
3. Drain the oil from the engine.
4. Remove the valve cover.
5. Remove the cam chain cover.
6. Use a feeler gauge to check the valve clearances between the cam lobes and the valve stems:
- Intake: 0.002-0.004 inches (0.05-0.10 mm)
- Exhaust: 0.004-0.006 inches (0.10-0.15 mm)
7. If the valve clearances are incorrect, loosen the locknut on the adjusting screw using a 12mm wrench.
8. Turn the adjusting screw clockwise to decrease the valve clearance, or counterclockwise to increase the valve clearance.
9. Hold the adjusting screw in position using a T30 Torx screwdriver and tighten the locknut with a 10mm wrench.
10. Recheck the valve clearances and make any necessary adjustments.
11. Reinstall the cam chain cover.
12. Reinstall the valve cover.
13. Refill the engine with oil.
14. Start the motorcycle and allow it to run for a few minutes.
15. Recheck the valve clearances and make any necessary adjustments.
