1. Low fuel pressure. If the fuel pressure is too low, the fuel injectors will not be able to deliver enough fuel to the engine. This can cause the engine to run lean, which can damage the engine.
2. Faulty fuel injector. A faulty fuel injector can cause the engine to run rich or lean, which can also damage the engine.
3. Faulty fuel pump. A faulty fuel pump can cause the fuel pressure to be too low.
4. Faulty oxygen sensor. The oxygen sensor measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas. This information is used by the fuel injection system to adjust the fuel mixture. If the oxygen sensor is faulty, the fuel injection system will not be able to properly adjust the fuel mixture, which can cause the engine to run rich or lean.
5. Clogged fuel filter. A clogged fuel filter can restrict the flow of fuel to the engine. This can cause the fuel pressure to be too low, which can lead to the engine running lean.
6. Faulty throttle position sensor. The throttle position sensor tells the fuel injection system how much the throttle is open. This information is used by the fuel injection system to adjust the amount of fuel injected into the engine. If the throttle position sensor is faulty, the fuel injection system will not be able to properly adjust the fuel mixture, which can cause the engine to run rich or lean.
To diagnose the cause of the FI light, you will need to do some troubleshooting. This may involve checking the fuel pressure, inspecting the fuel injectors, and checking the oxygen sensor. You may also need to have the fuel pump and throttle position sensor tested.
If you are not comfortable troubleshooting the fuel injection system, you should take your Suzuki 700 King Quad to a qualified mechanic.
