Tools:
- 36mm socket
- 17mm socket
- Oil drain pan
- Funnel
- Oil filter wrench
- New oil filter
- New oil (3.5 quarts)
Instructions:
1. Place the motorcycle on the center stand.
2. Start the motorcycle and let it run for a few minutes to warm up the oil.
3. Turn off the motorcycle and let it cool down for a few minutes.
4. Place the oil drain pan under the motorcycle, directly below the oil drain plug.
5. Use the 17mm socket to remove the oil drain plug.
6. Allow the oil to drain completely.
7. Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
8. Remove the oil filter using the oil filter wrench.
9. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
10. Screw the new oil filter onto the motorcycle until it is hand-tight.
11. Tighten the oil filter another 1/2 to 3/4 turns with the oil filter wrench.
12. Remove the oil filler cap.
13. Use the funnel to add the new oil to the motorcycle.
14. Add 3.5 quarts of oil.
15. Replace the oil filler cap and tighten it securely.
16. Start the motorcycle and let it run for a few minutes to circulate the new oil.
17. Check the oil level sight glass. The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks.
Tips:
- When you remove the old oil filter, be careful not to spill any oil.
- When you add the new oil, be careful not to overfill the motorcycle.
- Check the oil level regularly and add oil as needed.
