To remove the gas tank on a 2009 Yamaha V Star 950, follow these steps:

1. Turn off the fuel petcock.

2. Disconnect the fuel line from the petcock.

3. Remove the bolt that holds the front of the tank to the frame.

4. Remove the bolts that hold the rear of the tank to the frame.

5. Lift the tank up and off of the motorcycle.

Be sure to disconnect any related fuel hoses and drain any remaining gas from the tank before removal.
