What is a V6 engine?

A V6 engine is a type of internal combustion engine that uses six cylinders arranged in a V-formation – two banks of three cylinders each, joined at the crankshaft. The "V" configuration allows for a more compact engine design compared to an inline-six engine while still providing a relatively smooth power delivery due to the even firing intervals. The angle between the two banks of cylinders is typically 60 or 90 degrees.
